Physical medicine is a medication-free, non-surgical, effective way to address pain performed by trained practitioners in their respective fields of study. Through our Care Connections mobile clinic, chiropractic services are available to help relieve your chronic pain.

Physical medicine practitioners apply hands-on treatment to reset joints in your body and/or strengthen muscles around where pain exists. By adjusting joints and strengthening muscles around those problem areas, you alleviate pain and gain stability.

Physical medicine is the hands-on treatment of musculoskeletal conditions for the relief of associated muscle and joint pain.

Currently, chiropractic care is available at the Care Connections mobile clinic. However, acupuncture may be available in the future.

Fulcrum Health is a physical medicine expert that connects you to nearby health professionals who can quickly and effectively treat spine and musculoskeletal conditions, including muscle and joint pain. 

Physical medicine offers ways to effectively manage pain with the goal of avoiding highly addictive, prescribed painkillers. It may also delay or eliminate the need for invasive surgery with an associated long recovery time and large medical bills. Each type of physical medicine has its own unique approach, but all provide hands-on care:

  • Chiropractic care diagnoses, treats, and prevents musculoskeletal disorders by providing adjustments primarily to the spine.
  • Physical therapy helps people regain strength and flexibility.
  • Acupuncture targets specific points on the skin with needles to trigger various functions of the body and engage the body’s natural ability to alleviate pain and improve health.
  • Massage therapy manipulates muscles and soft tissues to improve physical function, reduce pain and stress, and promote relaxation.

In general, adjustments are painless. Depending on your physical condition and the treatment received, some patients may experience brief discomfort. This discomfort is typically short-lived.

The cost of service will vary depending on whether or not you have insurance coverage. Physical medicine is a covered treatment that’s billed through your insurance. Don’t have insurance? We can still help.

Initial chiropractic visits typically take 45-60 minutes, and returning visits are typically 15-30 minutes.

Care Connections providers are in-network with some insurance plans to ensure access to quality care. However, insurance coverage can change, affecting which services and providers are covered.

Before scheduling an appointment, we strongly recommend contacting your health plan to confirm network coverage and understand any potential out-of-pocket costs. You can normally find the number to call your insurer by referring to the back of your insurance card.

There are no particular guidelines for what you should wear to your appointment. However, we encourage you to wear loose, comfortable clothing.

If applicable, please bring your insurance card and personal ID. Additionally, we encourage you to bring a list of any prescription drugs you currently take and X-rays or diagnostic reports you may have that the practitioner should know about. 

The Care Connections mobile clinic will be available starting in fall 2025.
